1. Coaster Pattern
Chain five. Put the hook through the first Chain, wrap the yarn around the hook and pull it through both loops on the hook, that is a slip stitch. Chain one and turn. Crochet eight Single Crochet stitches around the Chain. When you get to the first Single Crochet put the hook through and do a slip stitch. Chain two and turn. Do one Double Crochet in the first Single Crochet from the hook. Do two Double Crochet Stitches in the next Single Crochet Stitch. Keep on doing this until you get to the first Double Crochet. Join with a slip stitch. Chain two and turn. Do one Double Crochet in each Double Crochet around. Join with a slip stitch, cut the yarn, pull it through, and then weave it in.

NOTE: NOT MY PATTERN. PEOPLE HAVE BEEN MAKING GRANNY SQUARES SINCE THE 1970'S AND POSSIBLY BEFORE.
Chain five, join with a slip stitch, chain two and turn. The chain counts as the first double crochet stitch so do two double crochet stitches then chain two. Do another set of three double crochet stitches and chain two. Repeat twice, join with a slip stitch, chain two and turn. Now do two double crochet stitches in the chain two space, because the chain counts as the first double crochet stitch. Chain two. Now you do three double crochet stitches in the corner, chain two, and do another three double crochet stitches. Keep on doing this until the granny square is as big as you want it. Make sure you do two sets of double crochet stitches in the corner.
Chain five, join with a slip stitch, chain two and turn. The chain counts as the first double crochet stitch so do two double crochet stitches then chain two. 5. Lacy Scarf Pattern
Chain thirteen if you're using really thin yarn, chain nine if you're using thick yarn. Double crochet in the fourth chain from the hook and chain one. Double crochet in the second chain from the first double crochet stitch. Repeat all of the way across. Chain three when you get to the end, then turn. Keep on going until the scarf is as long as it should be.
6. Washcloth Pattern
Chain thirty-five. Double crochet in each chain across. Chain one and turn Single crochet in each stitch across. Chain two and turn. Double crochet in each stitch across. Keep on going until the dishcloth is about eight inches tall. You can crochet around it if you want.
You can make these for friends and family. Just remember to tell them they can be used over and over again and they can be washed and dryed.
7. Bangle Bracelet Pattern
Chain twenty-four to thirty, it has to be an even number. It has to fit over your hand. Or you can crochet a strip and sew a button onto it, with a loop on the other end. Anyway, join with a slip stitch then chain two and turn. Double crochet in each chain around. Make sure the chain doesn't twist. When you get to the first double crochet stitch you join them with a slip stitch then chain one and turn. Single crochet in the first double crochet stitch. Then you put the hook inbetween the first double crochet stitch and the second. Put the hook behind the second double crochet stitch and back out in the front of the bracelet. Now just single crochet like usual.
Do that every other stitch. When you get to the first single crochet stitch join them with a slip stitch, cut the yarn, pull it through, then weave in the end. There you go! You can make lots of different colors and give them to your friends. You can even sell them but don't claim the pattern as your own.
8. Zig-Zag Bracelet Pattern
Chain two. Single crochet in the first chain. Chain two. Single crochet in the first chain. Keep on doing this until the bracelet can fit over your hand. You can crochet a little flower or some kind of charm to put on it. I invented this stitch and I've used it for a handle on a harmonica case for my brother and on a bag for my friend.
There's another way to make a zig-zag bracelet. Chain thirty to thirty-six. It has to be an even number. If you're going to use double or triple crochet you need to chain two or three in addition to the chains you already did, because those two or three chains will count as the first stitch. Repeat, repeat, repeat. When you get to the end join the first stitch with the last with a slip stitch. Pull the first end through the bottom corner of the other end. Cut the yarn and weave in the ends.

When the bottom is about two and a half inches wide you crochet in only one of the loops for only one row. Then just keep on crocheting until the bag is as big as you want it. For the last row you do one double crochet, chain one, skip on stitch and crochet in the second stitch from the hook. Whe you get to the end join with a slip stitch, cut the yarn, weave it in, and the bag is done. Now chain about forty for the string. Either slip stitch or single crochet in each chain across. Cut the yarn and weave it in. Now weave the string inbetween the double crochet stitches on the bag.

10. Scrunchie Pattern
Grab a ponytail, your hook, and some yarn. Put the hook through the ponytail. Wrap the yarn around the hook and pull up a loop. Chain two. Double crochet around the ponytail, and the end of the yarn. When you get to the first Double crochet stitch you join them with a slip stitch. Cut the yarn and weave in the end.

When you get to the end chain five and do three double crochet stitches in the chain two space. Chain two. You know what to do. Keep on going until it can fit over your lap, or on your bed.

Get out your cellphone. Chain about 8 stitches, depending on how wide your cell is. Double crochet in each chain stitch across. Then you keep on going around the chain. Join with a slip stitch, chain two, and turn. Double crochet in each stitch around. Repeat on all rows until the case is as big as you want it. When you have joined the last two stitches together chain about twenty-five to thirty stitches for the handle. Join to either the nearest stitch or the stitch across from the chain. Cut the yarn and weave in ends.
13. Glasses Case Pattern
Chain about fifteen. Crochet around the chain. Join, chain, and turn. Crochet around again, and again, and again until you can put your glasses in the case. You could tie some yarn on it and it can be a necklace.

Chain from knuckles to wrist, or lower if you want. Since I forgot to write a post on half double crochet I'll explain it now. Wrap the yarn around the hook. Put the hook in the stitch. Wrap the yarn around the hook and pull it through. Wrap the yarn around the hook one more time and pull it through all three loops on the hook. You've made one half double crochet stitch.

16. Headband Pattern
Chain three. Wrap the yarn around the hook and pull it through the chain. Put the hook in the next chain and pull up another loop. Do this with the third chain. Wrap the yarn around the hook and pull it through the first loop on the hook. Pull another loop through the next two chains. Keep doing that until you get to the end. Chain one and pull loops through the loops on top of the first row. Do just like the first row. Keep going until the headband can fit around your head. Crochet the ends together. Weave in the ends.
17. Granny Square Potholder
Make two granny squares with about five or six rounds. Then you crochet them together all the way around. You can crochet them together with whatever stitch you want. I would use double crochet but half double or triple crochet would look good too.
18. Door Knob Bag Pattern
(Not sure exactly how to spell that so sorry if its misspelled)
Chain however many you want. I think I chained about fifteen. Crochet on both sides of the chain with whatever stitch you want (I used single crochet). When you get to the first stitch join, chain, and turn. Now just keep on going like that until you think it's high enough. Now for the handles. They go on one side of the bag. Crochet until you get to the middle of the row. Chain however many stitches it takes so the handle can fit over the door knob. Now just keep on crocheting. When you get to the first stitch you did on that row join with a slip stitch. Now cut the yarn and weave in the ends.

Before you start your bag you should practice making and using plarn.
Chain about thirty-five to forty. I can't remember exactly how many stitches I chained. Now pick a stitch. I used single crochet but you could use half double, double, or triple crochet. Chain three to five. Do as many half double crochet stitches it takes to go around the ring. After you join chain however many stitches it takes to go around your finger. It shouldn't be too tight but it shouldn't be too loose either. Join on the other side of the ring.
You could add some spikes around the edge or something. Slip stitch or single crochet into a stitch, chain about three, and slip stitch or single crochet into the same stitch.

Chain two and turn. Do about twelve double crochet stitches in each of the sets of chains. If twelve doesn't fit or it's not enough then do whatever works. When you've filled up a loop with double crochet you single crochet into the single crochet of the row before. When you're done join, cut the yarn, and weave in the ends.
